She has hands and the beginnings of a garment! The garment is from a scrap of block printed fabric a friend wrapped a Christmas present in. Her hands are embroidered scraps of blue felt. I intend to make a series of puppets using only materials I already have, including (most specially) pieces of lace tatting and crochet made by my grandmother and great-grandmother (I have drawerfuls of doilies, table-runners, lace collars and skirt trimmings – objects in many cases a century old.)
